Principal's Message

Welcome to Hawthorne Elementary School! It's a privilege to be the principal of such a charming and successful school in beautiful San Luis Obispo. We are proud to have a culturally diverse student body where tolerance, respect, and hard work are modeled by all: students, staff, and parents. We really do have with the friendliest kids and the most dedicated staff, making this a model school in our community. Our programs and curriculum are challenging and engaging. We are fortunate to partner with Cal Poly School of Education and bring future teachers to our campus. This allows us to provide after-school reading instruction and Homework Club help throughout the year.

If you ask our students and parents what makes Hawthorne such a special school, and they will enthusiastically list activities and programs like SOAR Academy, Noon League Sports, "Cuddle Up with a Book Night", Accelerated Reader, Science Fair, Family Math Night, and of course - AWESOME TEACHERS! Come by and visit us in person, we are located at 2125 Story Street near downtown San Luis Obispo.
